Based on the new ToS ...
Apr. 14th, 2017 05:06 pm... I'm considering moving over to Dreamwidth.
As many of you may have heard, as of 04/04/2017, LiveJournal is under the control of SUP Media LLC.
If you would like to review the new Terms of Service before logging into your account, you can read them here.
I am specifically concerned about sections 9.2.7 and 9.2.8: how will these new terms impact those parts of LJ that focus on political discussion? Given Russia's restrictive stance on those who identify as LGBTQ, how will the ToS impact LJ communities focused on those issues?
I really hate to see this happening. I've been on LiveJournal for so long. Also, forgive my paranoia, but I have to wonder if there have been more than 15 comments on that News post. Responses are screened until the mod has the chance to reply, so I have to wonder if anyone asking about these issues simply doesn't get unscreened.
I'd feel bad abandoning my communities, but there's only one that really sees any activity these days.
